Now, the pictures you have been waiting for . . .

belly and bedding pictures!! :)

I bought the bedding from Baby World in Dallas. The pictures aren't very good, but you get the idea. The fabrics are Watermelon Paisley, Watermelon stripes, Watermelon Candy, and brown Minky Dot. I love it. Now, what color do I paint the nursery?

Just as Kinsey is growing . . .

so is her CLOSET!!! :) I LOVE IT!!! Here are some of her cute new things!!

We have so many sweet friends and family!! Her new Nikes are from her Marnie and Papa(Jeff's parents), her yellow blanket is from my friend, Emily, her purple "Queen" onesie is from my friend, Valerie, the pink "daddy" shirt is from my cousin, Sheri and her family, my friend, Carrie, bought her the pink onesie with the little hats and a matching bandana for Sweetie. I bought the pj's with the cute little feet, the little sundress, the bows, and the diaper bag!!

We have MOVEMENT!!

Our little baby has been moving like crazy! Usually when I'm sitting down. It didn't feel like gas or flutters to me, but I'm now at the point when I can feel her moving with my hand, not just inside!! Hopefully Jeff will be able to feel soon! I am totally loving the whole pregnancy thing. Well, almost whole, not so much the throbbing feet at the end of work and the lack of wardrobe! The movement and the growing belly are absolutely wonderful and miraculous!!

Also, we're thinking about naming our sweet baby girl, Kinsey. Isn't it super cute? A little stumped on a middle name. I'm thinking Kaye, Rae, Kate, or maybe Elizabeth. Any thoughts?

Forgot this one . . .

Not sure how, but this cute little outfit was forgotten! :) I'll try to take pictures with my actual camera from now on, not my iPhone. :)

A Growing Closet

I know that you are supposed to wait and see what you get from your showers before you start buying, but . . . I didn't buy one single thing the whole pregnancy until I found out that we were having a girl! How could I not spend a little? She needs to come home to a closet full of cute clothes! Every girl's dream, right? Here are the things that I have bought so far. I figured I should take advantage of all the sales and tax-free weekend! :)

Now the fun part . . .

Getting the nursery ready!! Now that we know, "girl" it's time to get the nursery ready. I have been shopping online and found a few cute sets. I want a variety of colors so I can do more with it. Let me know what you think of these!!
*Okay, so the first one is Emmi, then Kiwi blossoms, third is lavender and lime paisley, and the last one is Alexandria. The labels I had on the other one weren't matched up correctly!! : )

More pictures of her

They gave me so many!! You need to see them all!! This is the first of many more to come! :) Especially after she gets her and I drown her in giant bows and cute dresses!!!!

As you may know . . .

We're having a GIRL!! Here she is . . . beautiful already! We're a little partial! :)

Nightmares and Belly Bands!!

I read Jenny McCarthy's book, Belly Laughs, so I wasn't too surprised when I had a scary nightmare, but it was still a little weird. I woke up the other night with sweats and my heart racing. Apparently, in my dream, some little scary monster creatures kept visiting my house trying to take my baby. This creature was white, hairless, and shaped kind of like a star. So weird, right? Anyway, I kept telling it that I didn't have a baby and it would go away. Then it would return a few days later asking again. I was so scared and started freaking out. Finally, before I had an anxiety attack, I woke up. I was still a little freaked out, but had to keep telling myself it wasn't real.

Keep in mind, I don't watch scary movies for this exact reason . . . nightmares. :)

On a lighter note, Baby Mason is the size of an apple this week. Growing like crazy! We go back on the 20th and hopefully will find out the sex by then. I have so many names picked out, I just need to at least narrow it down by gender!! :)

Meanwhile, I'm getting upset everytime I try to get dressed. I am thrilled to be pregnant and this belly is what I have been waiting for, but I feel like it came really fast!! I tried to put some jeans on yesterday and it wasn't happening. Back to the trusty shorts I bought 1 size too big for my Nashville trip, which now fit perfectly. I wore my belly band and some jeans all around the house last night. That thing is pretty helpful!! I was a little worried about maternity jeans after seeing the selection( or lack there of) at Target yesterday. However, people gave me lots of good places to look, so I'm sure I'll be fine now. Actually, I'm kind of excited about them now. I think the comfort alone is going to make me happy!!

Heart Beat

Today was the day! The first time we heard Baby Mason's heart beating away. The Dr. said it was at about 160 bpm, which he says is good. So surreal to know that a little human, now the size of a lemon, is in there. Still seems crazy!! Just like the DVD, my computer won't let me put it in here because it's not a picture or video. Lame. If I ever figure it out, I'll try!!

Child Care . . . AHHHHHHH!!!

Even though Baby Mason is 2 inches long, Momma Mason is already planning for the future. Like I have said in a previous post, it would be possible for me to stay home, but I want to give our baby everything we possibly can! This means I need to keep working! So . . . I need some help. Any suggestions for sitters or daycares? I'd like to use daycare as a last resort, but it might be our only option. many of my friends are blessed to have a family member keep their child, which I hope you guys know what you have!! Worrying about this is becoming too much. I'm scared already and our baby isn't even here yet!!!! So, again, any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Here I am!!

Today was by far the neatest visit! For one, it was the first belly ultrasound, but the baby waved and was kicking. It was the neatest thing ever!! We have a DVD of it. I can't figure out how to copy it! :( I would love for everyone to see it. Hopefully soon I'll figure some way to do it.

Anyway, the Early Screening went great! The nasal bone and spinal fluid were visible, which reduces the risk of Down Syndrome. We're waiting on the blood results.

Doctor said everything looks good and he even took a guess at the gender. We'll see if he's right in a couple of weeks. He was different than the gender prediction test. Hmmmm . . . wonder which is right? Either way, we're not making any purchases until we know for sure! :)

Back to the Doctor . . .

We went to the doctor today. Baby Mason is doing great! We got to see him/her move!! It was the neatest thing! The little arms were moving and the body was bucking around like a little bronco!! :) I started crying, of course. It was so exciting. I wish I could have recorded it! We didn't get to hear the heartbeat, but we will for sure next time.

I'm scheduled to go back in two weeks to do the early screening for birth defects. They also might be able to tell us the sex, which is the part I'm most excited about now that I know the baby is doing well. During the screening, they will look for a nasal bone and measure the spinal cord. After that, they will do more blood work and that will tell whether things are normal or not. Nervous about that, but I'm sure it will be fine like everything else has been. Keep us in your prayers!

Last month of the first trimester

I am in my ninth week, which also means I am starting my last month of my first trimester. It's kind of bittersweet. While I will be ecstatic that the nausea will be subsiding, this is the trimester that I found out about the baby, saw the baby for the first time, and will hopefully get to hear it. Our next appointment is June 22. That will be my tenth week. It may or may not be too early to hear. Seeing the baby made it feel more concrete, I can only imagine what hearing its little heartbeat will do!! :)

This week, apparently Baby Mason is nearly an inch long and is about the size of a grape or medium olive and weighs just a fraction of an ounce, starting to look more and more human, essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: the baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do baby's tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. The baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Baby's eyes are fully formed, but eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. He has tiny earlobes, and his mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones.

Still figuring this out!

Well, I'm still trying out this whole blog thing. Some people are so good at it. I might be pretty good for the summer, but who knows when I go back to work. I have a feeling it will be CRAZY!! :)

I'm really getting nervous about some things when the baby comes. Like childcare. I would love to stay home, but that would mean we would have to give a lot of things up or Jeff would have to work a second job and I really don't want that to happen. I know I'm going to want him around to be with the baby and me. Plus, I want to extra money to spoil the baby!! :)

You know what I shopper I am, can you imagine me shopping for two? Ha! If I knew the sex, I would have already spent so much money. Going to Babies R Us the other day had me leaving in tears! :) I can't wait to find out the sex and then to start the buying!!!! I'm ready to start the nursery. I've already been looking at bedding and furniture. It's going to be pretty easy if the baby is a boy, however, if a girl comes along, I'm going to have trouble. There are so many cute things for girls!!

I bought one of those gender prediction tests. I have to wait another month to take it though, I think. They said they're about 82% accurate. Who knows?!?!?! I'm just anxious. I want either.

I just can't believe we're actually going to have a BABY!!

8 weeks and counting!

Today was our first doctor visit. We saw the baby(which looks like a blob in the sono) and it's tiny little heartbeat. Seeing that made this whole pregnancy feel real. Until now, the idea has seemed so abstract. We finally saw it, and thankfully we only saw one. :) That's all for now!
