I read Jenny McCarthy's book, Belly Laughs, so I wasn't too surprised when I had a scary nightmare, but it was still a little weird. I woke up the other night with sweats and my heart racing. Apparently, in my dream, some little scary monster creatures kept visiting my house trying to take my baby. This creature was white, hairless, and shaped kind of like a star. So weird, right? Anyway, I kept telling it that I didn't have a baby and it would go away. Then it would return a few days later asking again. I was so scared and started freaking out. Finally, before I had an anxiety attack, I woke up. I was still a little freaked out, but had to keep telling myself it wasn't real.
Keep in mind, I don't watch scary movies for this exact reason . . . nightmares. :)
On a lighter note, Baby Mason is the size of an apple this week. Growing like crazy! We go back on the 20th and hopefully will find out the sex by then. I have so many names picked out, I just need to at least narrow it down by gender!! :)
Meanwhile, I'm getting upset everytime I try to get dressed. I am thrilled to be pregnant and this belly is what I have been waiting for, but I feel like it came really fast!! I tried to put some jeans on yesterday and it wasn't happening. Back to the trusty shorts I bought 1 size too big for my Nashville trip, which now fit perfectly. I wore my belly band and some jeans all around the house last night. That thing is pretty helpful!! I was a little worried about maternity jeans after seeing the selection( or lack there of) at Target yesterday. However, people gave me lots of good places to look, so I'm sure I'll be fine now. Actually, I'm kind of excited about them now. I think the comfort alone is going to make me happy!!

Heart Beat
Today was the day! The first time we heard Baby Mason's heart beating away. The Dr. said it was at about 160 bpm, which he says is good. So surreal to know that a little human, now the size of a lemon, is in there. Still seems crazy!! Just like the DVD, my computer won't let me put it in here because it's not a picture or video. Lame. If I ever figure it out, I'll try!!

Child Care . . . AHHHHHHH!!!
Even though Baby Mason is 2 inches long, Momma Mason is already planning for the future. Like I have said in a previous post, it would be possible for me to stay home, but I want to give our baby everything we possibly can! This means I need to keep working! So . . . I need some help. Any suggestions for sitters or daycares? I'd like to use daycare as a last resort, but it might be our only option. many of my friends are blessed to have a family member keep their child, which I hope you guys know what you have!! Worrying about this is becoming too much. I'm scared already and our baby isn't even here yet!!!! So, again, any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Here I am!!
Today was by far the neatest visit! For one, it was the first belly ultrasound, but the baby waved and was kicking. It was the neatest thing ever!! We have a DVD of it. I can't figure out how to copy it! :( I would love for everyone to see it. Hopefully soon I'll figure some way to do it.
Anyway, the Early Screening went great! The nasal bone and spinal fluid were visible, which reduces the risk of Down Syndrome. We're waiting on the blood results.
Doctor said everything looks good and he even took a guess at the gender. We'll see if he's right in a couple of weeks. He was different than the gender prediction test. Hmmmm . . . wonder which is right? Either way, we're not making any purchases until we know for sure! :)
